Chasah: Where God Is Our Refuge
Chasah (חָסָה) - Is the Hebrew root meaning Refuge, Shelter, Trusting in God's protection.
At Chasah, faith is a communal journey. Life isn’t meant to be lived alone, and here, you’ll find a family that grows, prays, and serves together. God is a refuge for all who seek Him, and we desire to reflect that spirit as a community.
"Whether you’re searching for connection, renewal, or purpose, we welcome you."
Our gatherings reflect the heart of the early Church—simple, intentional, and rooted in love. We come together in homes, pray, praise God, encourage one another in our faith journeys and share weekly meals together. Burdens are shared, joys are celebrated, and everyone has a seat at the table.
Whether you’re searching for connection, renewal, or purpose, we welcome you. No matter where you are on your journey, come as you are. You can be seen, known, and loved by God and by His people.
OUR MISSION
Chasah’s mission is: to grow together in love and unity with Christ and one another by each person participating in using their gifts to build one another up, just as the early church did.
Our gatherings are inspired by the simplicity, love, and the life-giving community of the early Church. We open our hearts and homes to share blessings, grow in faith, and experience the beauty of walking together as one family in Christ. There’s a place for you here.

About our Pastor - Kurtis Freeman
Kurtis Freeman completed the Plant Fort Worth Church Planting Residency in 2024 and with the support of Salt + Light Fort Worth, his sending church, will be commissioned to plant Chasah in January 2025.
Kurtis has been faithfully married to Ashley Freeman for 15 years, and together they have four sons, ages 3 to 12. He played a key role in supporting Ashley as she founded DASH Network, a Christian nonprofit serving asylum seekers.
Kurtis holds a bachelor’s degree from TCU—where he served as president of the BYX (Brothers Under Christ) fraternity—and a master’s degree from UTA. With over 12 years of small group leadership experience, Kurtis has faithfully served the Church in various capacities. He currently works full-time as a Director of Business Strategy at Charles Schwab, a role he will continue while pastoring Chasah.
Note From Ashley Freeman:
“Being a pastor is not like other jobs because it is character, not resume that qualifies someone. So let me, as his wife, speak to that. Kurtis knows and loves God deeply. He has more genuine concern for others, more spiritual and life wisdom, and more carefulness to do the right thing than anyone I’ve ever known. God is growing in him a true gift for shepherding people.”
This sign hangs in the entryway of the house where we meet. It captures much of the heart of this community:
